Michael Jacobs enjoyed a successful debut season with Latics, winning Sky Bet League One and gaining promotion with his team mates, but also scoring 10 goals to finish second in Latics' scoring charts, with a ratio of one goal every three league starts.
The creative forward opened his account by hitting the winner in Latics' 1-0 defeat of Crewe Alexandra in August 2015, following up with his second and third shortly after by scoring the eventual winner against Fleetwood Town in September and in the 2-2 draw with Millwall later in the same month.
Bradford City, Rochdale, Fleetwood, Scunthorpe United, Chesterfield, Burton Albion and Southend United would all fall victim to Jacobs before the season's end, with the 24-year-old helping Latics to either victories or draws every time he netted.
