After joining Latics in August 2015, Jussi Jaaskelainen became Latics' number one choice at the start of October, replacing Richard O'Donnell for the remainder of the campaign, with O'Donnell subsequently joining Bristol City.

Latics' title win and promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship coincided with the experienced goalkeeper's run of form which saw him keep 17 clean sheets in 38 matches across all competitions.

CAREER SO FAR

Born on 19 April 1975 in Mikkeli, Finland, Jaaskelainen began his career with local club MP Mikelli in 1992, before moving the VPS Vaasa in 1996.

In 1997, Jaaskelainen was brought to England by then Bolton Wanderers manager Colin Todd, going on to play 529 times in all competitions from 1997 until his departure in 2012.

Whilst with the Trotters, Jaaskelainen was a League Cup runner-up, won promotion to the Premier League, and twice appeared in FA Cup semi-finals.

The goalkeeper joined West Ham United, making 61 appearances in all competitions before his contract expired this summer.
