The combatant and committed midfielder joined Latics at the back end of the 2011-12 season after he was released from the Liverpool Academy.
Aylmer has already made his mark in the Under 21s with impressive performances in the centre of the midfield and has shown great vision whilst being solid when made to defend.
He played a part in two of the final games in the Barclays Premier Reserve League in the 2011-12 season and found himself on the score sheet for the first time in a 3-0 victory against Sunderland at Robin Park.
