The promising Spanish full-back joined Wigan Athletic alongside fellow countryman Guillermo Andres in the summer of 2012.
‘Edu’ is a product of the Barcelona youth system and his early potential was marked with appearances for both the Spanish under 17s and under 18s.
Whilst with the under 17s, he appeared at the UEFA European Under 17 Championships in 2010 and was part of the team that eventually lost in the final 2-1 to England.
The defender has impressed during 2012-13 pre-season and found himself opening the scoring in a 3-2 victory over Marine FC.
