UPDATED 07:00 6th July 2013 The 2014/15 campaign will see Scott Carson enter the second year of his Latics career after joining the club from Turkish outfit Bursaspor in 2013 on a three-year deal. The Whitehaven-born stopper has racked up 145 Premier League appearances during a career that has seen him star for Leeds United, Liverpool, Charlton Athletic, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion. During his time with Liverpool, Carson picked up a UEFA Champions League winners medal after featuring in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Juventus en route to the final. After impressing during loan spells with Charlton and Villa, Carson earned his first England cap in November 2007, keeping a clean sheet as the Three Lions defeated Austria 3-0 in Vienna. Three more caps followed for Carson, including a second-half appearance in a 2-1 win over Germany in Berlin. Carson’s last cap came in 2011 following his move to the Turkish Super League with Bursaspor where he made 70 appearances before joining Latics. His 18 appearances during the 2013-14 season included the 2-1 win at Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals and also penalty shoot-out defeat to Arsenal in the last four at Wembley.
