The towering central defender joined Latics on August 2nd 2012 from Balearic Island club Real Mallorca.
He subsequently went on to make his Latics debut three days later as his former club visited the DW Stadium in a pre-season friendly that ended in a 2-0 defeat.
Ramis is a product of the youth system at Mallorca and after playing 50 times from 2001-2004 in the B team; he made the step up to the first team in 2004 and debuted against Albacete in a 0-0 draw.
Since then he became a focal point of the Mallorca team and impressed season after season, most notably in the 2011-12 season when he helped his side to 10 clean sheets and an 8th place finish in La Liga.
On leaving Spain, Ramis had played 165 times for Mallorca, scoring nine goals and ending his stay at the club in the final game of the club’s season against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite not making a full international cap for Spain, Ramis has represented his country at under 19 and under 21 level whilst also being part of a Spain team that won the Mediterranean Games football tournament in 2005.
