Sandy Stewart – Assistant Manager
A former defender who made over 400 appearances during his playing days north of the border, Sandy's last role was as Assistant Manager at Bolton Wanderers working with Owen Coyle.
The pair were once team-mates at Airdrieonians, before Stewart became Coyle's manager at the club under the new name of Airdrie United in 2001 - his first job in management and one that brought success in 2004, winning the Scottish Second Division. After four years at the helm at New Broomfield he teamed up once again with Coyle at St. Johnstone, becoming assistant the Saints and helping the club to win the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2008, taking charge of the final before following Coyle south to Burnley.
At Turf Moor he helped gain promotion to Premier League in 2010, and after three years at the club left to join Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium where he remained until 2012.
