Dave Watson's team to face Port Vale in season opener

Wigan Athletic's Youth Team will start their 2010/11 campaign at home against Port Vale on August 14^th, shortly followed by fixtures against Macclesfield Town (A) and Tranmere Rovers (H).

The season will come to an end in April with Dave Watson's team rounding things up with a home game against Blackpool, against whom the two had some fantastic battles last season.

The Youth Team had a great team mentality last season and showcased plenty of individual talent that managed to make the progression into the Reserves, something Watson is always aiming towards, saying;

"We're always aiming to build for the future of this club and if we can continue the hard-work we did last season then there'll be a bright future ahead."
