It was another good performance from the Wigan Athletic youth side who notched up 3 points against Stockport County on Saturday morning.

The boys turned in an outstanding first half performance, particularly the first 30 minutes but unfortunately could only score one goal.Wigan took the lead afterCallum McManaman cut inside the left full-back and beat the keeper at the near post. However a Lapse in concentration just before the break saw them concede a poor goal from a set play with just a minute to go till half time.

Wigan responded from David Lowe's half time team talk and the lads rolled their sleeves up and grinded out a well deserved victory with Craig Mahon coming on from the bench to score the winner, a great strike from 20 yards.

The Manager was also pleased with his defence, in particular the centre-half pairing

"The Two centre backs, Andrew Pearson and Nick Meace did exceptionally well.Adam Prince also built on his great performance against Wrexham with a super first half display and Callum McManaman turned in another solid display and we can't stop him scoring, he's now got three in three."
