Latics snapped up Titus Bramble on a free transfer from Newcastle United in June 2007 as he penned a three year contract.

The huge defender is still young but will add bags of top flight experience to the back four at the JJB Stadium.

The Ipswich born man started his career with his home town club making his debut December 1998 in the old First Division as a 17-year old.  He helped the Tractor Boys finish 5th in the Premiership in 2001, and featured in the UEFA Cup against Inter Milan the following campaign.

However, Ipswich were relegated the following season and after 48 league appearances, Bramble then moved to Newcastle United for £5million in the summer of 2002.  The powerful defender made over a century of league appearances for the Toon Army and also received 12 England Under-21 caps during his time on Tyneside.

His highlight for Wigan thus far must surely be the Anfield equaliser that earned Latics their first point against any of the "big four" sides, a feat he repeated when he returned to Newcastle (right) in November '08.
