Lee Nicholls earned himself a place on the bench for the first time when Wigan faced Hull City in the FA Cup Third Round on January 2, 2010.
The Liverpool-born shotstopper has impressed in the Reserves, a virtual ever-present in the first half of the 2009-10 campaign.
During the 2010-11 season, Lee went out on loan to Hartlepool and Shrewsbury to gain some valuable first team eperience. He also travelled with the England U20s squad to the U20s World Cup in Colombia but did not feature in any of the games.
