The 33-year old Frenchman joined Latics on a free transfer after being released by Newcastle United in June 2007.
The Lille born player started his career in his home country with his hometown club before spells with Auxerre, Nantes and Lens before he signed for Manchester City in August 2003 for £700,000.
He made 92 Premiership appearances for the Blues before a £2million move to Newcastle United in August 2006. Whilst on Tyneside, Sibierski helped the Magpies to the last sixteen in the UEFA Cup, and scored 8 goals in all competitions.
The versatile Frenchman can play anywhere in midfield or in attack and is strong in the air.
