Trinidad & Tobago international striker signed from Swansea City in July 2009.
After two prolific seasons with the Swans, in which he scored an impressive 53 goals in 102 appearance, Scotland made the decision to follow Roberto Martinez to Wigan Athletic.
His strength, pace and lethal finishing are his main attributes and he is keen to use the technical attributes of his game as well as his physical ones to provide the goods.
Scotland started life as a footballer at San Juan Jabloteh and Defence Force, both sides of his home nation, before being offered a trial at Dundee Utd.
He impressed everyone at Tannadice Park and was soon offered a full-time contract. In his two years there he netted eight times in 52 appearances before securing a move to fellow Scottish outfit St. Johnstone.
It was at the Saints that Scotland really started to make a name for himself, and in his two years at the club (2005-07) he scored 33 times in 66 games, a fantastic ratio of a goal every other game.
In 2007 Roberto Martinez, then manager at Swansea City, decided to bring the striker south of the border to the Liberty Stadium, and what a decision it proved to be. Scotland was in blistering form for the Swans, scoring on his debut and helping Martinez's side to promotion to the Championship in his first season in charge.
His 24 goals the following season propelled Swansea into the play-off places going into the final weeks of the season but were unfortunate to miss out on the play-offs finishing 7th.
On the international scene Scotland has won 35 caps for Trinidad & Tobago, netting eight times, including a hat-trick against Dominican Republic in October 2008.
