Seven players called-up for international duty

This weeks' international games see a number of Latics' stars in action for their country, in a mixture of friendly and competitive fixtures.

Antolin Alcaraz will be hoping that Paraguay can replicate their success in this summer's World Cup when they face Japan (Saturday) and China (Tuesday) in their International Friendly Matches.

Ali Al Habsi also has a Friendly game on Tuesday, when his Oman team will play Qatar in Doha, whilst Maynor Figueroa's Honduras will also be following on from their summer campaign with Friendlies against El Salvador on Saturday and Canada on Tuesday.

Hugo Rodallega will join up with his international colleagues when his Colombia team play two away games against Venezuela (Friday) and Mexico (Tuesday).

Both the Ivory Coast and France have Continental Qualifiers this week, with Steve Gohouri's Ivory Coast team travelling to Abidjan to face Rwanda (Saturday) and Charles N'Zogbia's France in action twice, playing Belarus on Friday (Live on ESPN at 8pm) and Bosnia on Tuesday.

Finally, James McCarthy's Republic of Ireland will take on Switzerland (Friday) and Turkey (Tuesday) in the UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifiers.

Everyone at Wigan Athletic would like to wish those on international duty good luck and a healthy return to the DW Stadium.
