ALCARAZ LOOKING FOR A 90 MINUTE PERFORMANCE

'We need to do it for 90 minutes now' says Antonlin Alcaraz

Paraguayan World Cup star Antolin Alcaraz says the win in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night wasa big boost for the team's confidence ahead of Saturday's trip to White Hart Lane.

"It's a bit of confidence for us." Said Alcaraz,

"It's only one game in one competition but it's good for everybody, especially for the forwards who gain more confidence from scoring three goals, but we now need to take points in the league, whether it's three or one, we need to take a point."

Alcaraz, who was captain for Tuesday night's tie, was also very pleased with the clean sheet and believes the team should take that along with the first half performance against Chelsea into Saturday's game.

"It's very special for me to have been captain but I think there are lots of captains in the team, but it was a very special honour for me.

"It's good that we didn't concede a goal but we also played very well and it's important that we now take that performance and also the performance in the first half against Chelsea and perform well against Tottenham, but it's important that we also do it for 90 minutes."

Antolin Alcaraz

The 28-year-old defender expects a tough game in the capital but believes that Latics have a group of players who are more than capable of giving Spurs a game.

"Tottenham are a very good team but we will try to do our best.

"We have very good players and we just need a little bit of belief and confidence to do well in the competition."
