Latics confirm Jason Scotland has joined Ipswich Town

Wigan Athletic Have confirmed that Trinidad and Tobago striker Jason Scotland has joined Championship side Ipswich Town, for an undisclosed fee.

The 31 year old has found it difficult to bring the phenomenal scoring rate that he displayed for Swansea City into the Barclays Premier League, scoring his solitary goal in the top division in the 2-1 defeat at Fulham last April.

He also netted in the FA Cup at Notts County in January. He made 14 Premier League starts last season, playing another 18 times from the bench. He also played three times in the FA Cup and once in the Carling Cup.

Roberto Martinez said: "Jason is a good pro who has never given me less than 100% in training and on the pitch. Everyone at the club wishes him all the best in his new career at Ipswich Town."
