FULL-TIME: WIGAN ATHLETIC 4-1 NK RUDAR
A solid performance as the boys finish the game of their Austria trip as victors! Some real moments of inspiration, looking sharp finishing well and moving the ball round very well. A full match report will follow...
85min: Momo Diame is on fire this evening. The midfielder has been at the heart of everything in the middle, winning the ball back, spraying it left and right and driving the team forward. Superb performance.
80min: Hugo Rodallega teases the defenders on the edge of the area before drilling a low shot towards the bottom left-corner. A comfortable one for the 'keeper.
75min: SUB: Jordi Gomez is brought back on, replacing the hard-working and dangerous Victor Moses. A top performance from Victor.
71min: GOAL! 4-1 LATICS! Boselli puts the ball down and arrows it into the top-corner, great finish!
70min: PENALTY! Mauro Boselli rounds the 'keeper but his shot is handled on the line by the covering defender, not a tough one for the ref!
60min: A quick one-two with Hugo Rodallega on the edge of the area and James McArthur gets his first sight of goal, unable however to slot past the 'keeper. Good, quick play though.
55min: James McArthur has looked smart so far. Always looking for the ball and using it wisely, don't think he's misplaced a pass yet. Meanwhile Moses is on fire down the left-flank.
50min: Fantastic work from Victor Moses down the left, skinning the full-back and flicking the ball to the back-post for Hugo Rodallega who misguides his header wide.
Roberto Martinez has rung the changes at half-time with James McArthur comes on for his debut making up the midfield trio with Momo and McCarthy.
Steve Gohouri, Mike Pollitt, Hugo Rodallega and Mauro Boselli have also been brought on for the second 45-minutes.
HALF-TIME! A good half for Latics storming into an early lead and taking a strangle-hold on the game. The lads are looking sharp and moving the ball around well, using their training sessions to good effect.
A slight hiccup with the goal conceded, but overall plenty to be positive about.
No-doubt there'll be a few changes before the second-half gets underway, we'll keep you informed of them all. Just off for a hot-dog!
43min: SUB: NK Rudar's number 15 is replaced by number 20. We'll bring you names once our team-sheet finds it's way back!
39min: GOAL! 3-1 LATICS. NK Rudar grab a goal five minutes before the break after a low cross from the left finds its way to the Slovenian's striker on the back post. His smart finish creeps in via the back-post.
35min: Latics have just started relaxing on the ball and lowering their tempo. James McCarthy is stringing things together in the middle and youngster Callum Morris is settling into the game nicely. His burst down the wing a couple of minutes ago gave us a glimpse of the talent he has.
30min: A pretty frantic first half-hour then. Latics, three goals to the good, are dominating here against their Solvenian opponents, playing some lovely fluid football through the midfield and looking pretty sharp. Momo Diame and Ben Watson in particular have been impressive.
27min: GOAL! 3-0 LATICS! Jason Scotland steps-up and slots home calmly into the bottom-right corner.
26min: PENALTY! Momo Diame is brought down inside the area and the referee points to the spot!
25min: SUB: Callum Morris replaces Roman Golobart
10min: GOAL! 2-0 LATICS! James McCarthy gets himself on the score-sheet with a fine volley after fantastic work down the left-wing by Victor Moses. Superb finish!
6min: GOAL! 1-0 LATICS! Great movement from the midfield ends with Momo Diame whipping in an inch-perfect cross for Jordi Gomez to head home into the top-corner - smart finish.
0min: and we're off! Latics maintaining possession well, being patient and getting a feel of the ball.
Minutes away from kick-off now folks with Chris Kirkland, sporting a dashing yellow 'keeper kit, taking up captain-duties and exchanging pleasantries in the middle of the pitch.
And so we have the first McArthur/McCarthy mix-up of the season! Didn't take long eh! James McCarthy starts in place of McArthur. No doubt we'll see him later on.
A trio of die-hard Latic fans have turned out behind Chris Kirkland's goal unveiling a Union Jack/Wigan Athletic flag, good to have them on board!
One thing is for sure, Stewart Frodsham our cameraman and match-day announcer will not be taking pre-match play-list suggestions! After Neil Diamond things have gone downhill rapidly!
So James McCarthur, Latics' latest signing from Hamilton is handed his debut for the club. Not sure where he'll slot in just yet but we'll keep an eye on that and let you know.
