Opening game of 2010/11 campaign to be played at home

Wigan Athletic can confirm that the opening game of the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League season against Blackpool will be played at the DW Stadium on August 14^th with a 3.00pm kick-off.

The game had originally been scheduled to take place at Bloomfield Road, but due to concerns regarding the redevelopment of Blackpool's home ground the Premier League and both clubs have agreed to reverse the fixture. Latics will now travel to Bloomfield Road on Saturday 16th April 2011.
