CHARLES DEDICATES AWARDS TO MUM

Posted on: Thu 06 May 2010

After fantastic season winger aims to get even better

Those who attended Wednesday night's Player of the Year Dinner will all agree how spectacular an event it was; great entertainment, fantastic food, and a whole host of awards that celebrated a season packed with outstanding performances.

During the night we caught up with some of the winners on the awards they picked up and on a season few will ever forget.

Charles N'Zogbia was the big winner of the night, scooping the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year accolades, delighted to have been voted and dedicating his achievements to a very special person;

"I'm delighted to have picked up these awards, and happy with how the season has gone," said N'Zogbia.

"I dedicated the award to my Mum, she was my first supporter, believed in me and I've got a lot to thank her for."

Since arriving at the club last February the Frenchman has made 48 league appearances, finding the back of the net six times.

But the stats give only a slight indication of the impact the winger has had at the club especially this campaign, and whilst his contributions to the cause have been invaluable, he insists the aim is to keep on improving;

"When I arrived here last season I didn't know an awful lot of players, but I soon came to learn that this club is like a family, we all come together and work hard for one another.

"All I want to do is keep improving myself with every game I play, and if I can score goals along the way then I'll do my best to do just that."
