Preview
It's the final home game of the season as Wigan Athletic look to sign off to the home fans on a high with a win over Hull City. Hull still can mathematically attain safety, but that involves nothing short of a miracle, Ian Dowie's side must overturn a -24 goal difference while hoping that West Ham lose both of their final games.
In the Premier League, points mean places and places mean pounds with every position in the table worth a reported half a million pounds, 14th place is still achievable for Latics.
Despite the game having very little riding on it, a crowd of over 19,000 is expected on Monday.
Team News
Roberto Martinez is likely to be without striker Marcelo Moreno who picked up a calf injury against West Ham last week.
Honduran Midfielder Hendry Thomas is not yet ready to return after battling a quad injury.
Hull City striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who scored in the reverse fixture, could make his return at the DW Stadium, the Dutchman suffered a nasty head injury against Aston Villa two weeks ago.
He will most certainly come in for Jozy Altidore, whose loan spell is over after he picked up a three match suspension for his sending off against Sunderland.
The Manager
Despite there being little riding on the game, the Wigan Athletic manager still expects Hull to come and make things difficult for Latics.
"I'm expecting a very difficult game on Monday that will no doubt be very tight early on," said Martinez,
"Although Hull have a very slim chance of staying up they'll want to perform to a high standard and at least prepare themselves for next season.
"Individually their players have plenty to play for and that's just one of the factors that will make it a tough contest.
"We've seen already how difficult it can be when you face a team who are well organised and want to play for one another, and we need to be ready to challenge against that.
