Preview

Whilst Wigan have been busy preparing for this fixture, Fulham attentions have been focussed on Thursday night's Europa League Quarter Final against German side Wolfsburg.

Fulham's last Premier League outing saw them go down 2-0 at the KC Stadium to give Ian Dowie his first win in charge of Hull City opening up the debate as to whether Fulham's priorities lie on that Europa League Quarter-Final or the Premier League.

One thing is for sure, the points are absolutely crucial for Wigan Athletic and Roberto Martinez will not be thinking that Fulham will lie down, and the trip to Craven Cottage has become just that little bit more difficult with the absence of Gary Caldwell and Hendry Thomas facing a scan today (Thursday).

Team News

Charles N'Zogbia played 40 minutes on Monday night, coming on for the injured Hendry Thomas who is having a scan on Thursday to see the extent of the quad injury. The manager will also assess Emmerson Boyce who has been out with a lower back problem. If he does not make it, Paul Scharner may have to continue in defence with the recalled Ben Watson possibly playing some part.

Suspended: Gary Caldwell

The Manager

The Wigan manager has been impressed with Fulham's record both in the Premier League and further afield this season and knows that despite all the games they have to play, Fulham will still be hard to beat.

"We've got three trips to London left before the end of the season starting this weekend against Fulham.

"Craven Cottage is going to be a tough place to visit because they have been very strong there this season both domestically and in European competitions.

"But I think we've shown no fear this season, wherever we've gone this season we've gone there with a brave attitude and we need to continue that, showing the same qualities we had in the first half-hour at Eastlands.

"Fulham have been able to adapt themselves to the demands of a busy season playing many games. They've coped very well to those demands and will be very ready for Sunday's game, and we'll have to be ready for what will be a very challenging game.

"We need to show the same intensity in our play that we've shown lately and with the right mentality we'll get the rewards."
