Gaffer: crowd calls for repeat of Liverpool atmosphere

Latics manager Roberto Martinez has called on the club's supporters to come and cheer the team in the big game against Burnley at the DW Stadium tomorrow afternoon and says: "more of the same please".

"The crowd makes a huge difference, it gives the lads a real boost", he said, "and the atmosphere in the last few matches at home has been the best all season I think.

"So we need more of the same."

Martinez is convinced that the Wigan Athletic fans will understand the importance of tomorrow's game and be vocal.

"Our club has a history of coming together when the situation calls for it," he says, "it's what makes us special, and I know the supporters will be a tremendous help tomorrow at our DW Stadium, we want to recreate the mood and atmosphere of the Liverpool game especially.

"The mood in the camp is very positive, the players are very together and they know that although we maybe haven't had lady luck on our side in the last few weeks, you have to earn your luck in the Premier League and they will continue to maintain their high standards and the rewards will follow."

Tickets for today's clash are available up until kick off from the DW Stadium, [click here] for details.

Roberto added: "We realise how important the role of the crowd is, and that is why we want to make a gesture back to the fans and reduce prices as much as we could for the run in.

"Get ready for the challenge ahead!"
