All the Premier League players will also have an added incentive to score this weekend because Barclays will be donating £1,000 to Sport Relief for every goal scored and an extra £500 for every shot on target during the Sport Relief Weekend.

If the games go according to form, with an average of 27 goals and approximately 145 efforts on target per weekend so far this season, almost £100,000 could be raised for Sport Relief.

Kevin Wall, managing director of Barclays said: "It's fantastic that we are able to harness the excitement of the Barclays Premier League to raise money for Sport Relief. We know that top-flight English football is all about attacking play, competitiveness and goal scoring and we hope that the Sport Relief Weekend, proves to be a record-breaker for goals and fundraising."
