Latics narrow missed out on all three points back in December at the Britannia Stadium, a saved injury time penalty denying Latics that afternoon.  But that wasn't the biggest talking point of the day, it was Maynor Figueroa's 60 yard free-kick that stole the headlines.

Tony Pulis' side enjoyed their biggest top-flight win in 25 years when they beat Blackburn 3-0 at the weekend which extended their unbeatedn run to four games.  However Wigan will take confidence from the fact that Stoke haven't won away in six.

Latics have picked up just six-points from the last nine games, which has seen Martinez's side slip to withing just 2-points of the drop zone.

Team News

Steve Gohouri remains sidelined with a hamstring injury but the defender is Latics' manager Roberto Martinez's only injury worry for the visit of Stoke.

New signings Victor Moses and Marcelo Moreno are pushing for a first start, having made their debuts as substitutes at Sunderland on Saturday.

Stoke captain Abdoulaye Faye should return from the back spasm that forced him to miss the win over Blackburn.

Andy Wilkinson is fit despite receiving stitches to a head injury in that game.
