Martinez looking forward to Notts County clash and hoping for strong turn-out

Roberto Martinez has called on Latics fans to spur the team on during this busy period, starting Tuesday night when Notts County arrive at the DW Stadium.

A late revival at Meadow Lane a week-and-a-half ago made sure Wigan Athletic have another chance at progressing into the Fifth Round of the FA Cup and the gaffer stressed the importance of the home crows in making sure that objective is completed.

"We've always relied on our fans to be there for us, it's something we banked on at the start of the season and they've been an inspiration to us. We're hoping for the kind of environment we know we can create at the DW Stadium and hope everyone enjoys the occasion.

"We're all excited and looking forward to the Notts County game, we know that in the first-half at Meadow Lane they caught us cold and made things very difficult. But the reaction was very good and we found the answers to get back in the game, which we deserved.

"So now, for both teams, it's a fantastic opportunity to get into the Fifth-Round and we need to make sure that we start this game in the same manner as we finished the last.

"Notts County will be full of confidence with nothing to lose, wanting to enjoy the occasion and that makes for a dangerous situation from our point-of-view.

"We need to be professional, know what's needed in the game and remember how the first game went.

"Everyone in the squad has to be ready, because we've also got another 16 games to go in the Premier League which are paramount. These games are important in getting everyone ready for the end of the campaign and making sure we're all sharp."

As far as injury-news goes, the gaffer is confident of having plenty of options available for the clash with the obvious absentees:

"Mario Melchiot and Chris Kirkland missed the game on Saturday and both remain doubtful for the tie. We'll be assessing Steve Gohouri to see if he is fit to play, but apart from that everyone is fit and ready to go."

The ticket details for the clash are as follows:

Adults:£15.00
Under-16's & O.A.P's£5.00

There will be a cash turnstile on the East Stand for fans wishing to pay on the night. However supporters wanting to sit in the West Stand must purchase a ticket from the ticket office which will be open until kick-off.

* The club would also like to announce that all previous parking restrictions around the DW Stadium have now been lifted.
