VILLA DATE CONFIRMED!
Latics' confirm date for re-arranged home game
Wigan Athletic's Barclays Premier League home game against Aston Villa will now take place on Tuesday March 16th, Kick Off 7.45pm.
The game was originally scheduled for January 9th but due to a malfunction to the DW Stadium's under-soil heating, referee Stuart Atwell decided the game would not take place.
Such problems have since been rectified and as the Barclays Premier League begins to resume normality, so too can the business of re-arranging those games that fell victim the recent adverse weather conditions.
The club would like to remind fans that all tickets purchased for the original date will still be valid for the game, and that the Bolton Wanderers game postponed in December has now been re-arranged for Tuesday 16th February with an 8.00pm Kick Off.
Another fixture date hanging in the balance is that of the FA Cup Fourth Round. Latics have been drawn to play away to either Notts County or Forest Green Rovers in the next round but with their tie having been postponed twice they will now play each other on Tuesday 19th January.
Should that game end in a draw, and a replay is needed, they will meet again on Saturday January 23rd, the scheduled date for the Fourth Round, in which case Latics will play the winners on Tuesday 2nd February at either Notts County or Forest Green, Kick off 7.45pm.
