Preview
Wigan Athletic defender Erik Edman will face former club Tottenham on Sunday as he continues to deputise at left-back for the injured Maynor Figueroa as Martinez is expected to name the same team that drew with Fulham.
The Swede made his first Premier League start since April 2008 last time out as Maynor Figueroa was sidelined with a knee ligament problem pick up at Burnley, and is still at least a week away from recovery.
Much of the attention will be focussed in the direction of a Honduran midfield battle. It is Wilson Palacios' first game against Wigan since leaving for Spurs, and he will be up against one of his summer replacements in Hendry Thomas.
The Manager
Wigan Athletic Manager Roberto Martinez is full of praise for his opposite number and expects the midfield battle to be the key area on Sunday.
"Over the last 16 months Spurs have been improving steadily and in every transfer window they've looked to strengthen, which has given them a fantastic squad," said Martinez.
"It's a club that has a special feel about it, a team that plays a certain style and they're exciting to watch. With that in mind I think it will be a really open game and a great advert for Premier League football.
"Harry's (Redknapp) curriculum speaks for itself. I have the upmost respect for him and I'm a big admirer of the work he has done throughout his career.
"His management skills have made him successful in every environment he's been in, and now he's putting together a team who are competing with the very best in the Premier League.
"I think the central midfield area is going to see a lot of action.
Team News
Tottenham are hoping that Aaron Lennon will be back following an ankle injury, but defender Sebastein Bassong remains out.
Luka Modric was expected to return to the side, but he still needs time to recover from the broken leg he suffered back in August against Birmingham.
Wigan's injury list remains slim with only full-back Maynor Figueroa on the sidelines, so former Spurs player Erik Edman will continue to deputise.
Boss Roberto Martinez may select the same team that drew with Fulham.
