Martinez proud with attitude shown by players and fans during West Ham victory
Roberto Martinez reflected on Saturday's win over West Ham, pleased that his team learnt lessons from the past and put them to good effect.
He said: "The West Ham victory was a combination of different aspects coming together at once.
"The most pleasing thing for me was that we knew, as a team, what to do in every single situation. When you're at home you have that responsibility of getting on the ball, creating chances and taking the game to the opposition.
"In certain stages of the game we had some very good phases of play and created our goal from open play, which is a good reflection of your performance. I think overall we learnt our lessons from the game at Goodison Park which is very pleasing.
"The patience in our play was vital and we need to keep developing that, because we are a team that try to find and create chances, not chase them.
"Towards the end, when West Ham threw everything at us, we had to stay composed and make the right decisions which we did, and as a football club I was very proud that we all pushed together to make sure the points stayed at the DW."

Another pleasing aspect from Saturday's game was Momo Diame's performance; the Frenchman formed a strong partnership with
Hendry Thomas in the centre, something Martinez believes is being replicated in all areas of the team.
"Momo (Diame) said in the week that he was aware of the changes between Spanish and English football, and knew where he had to improve,"said Martinez.
"That's the first important aspect you need to realise when you move to a different country and it's typical of the sense of responsibility we have in the squad.
"We have a very talented squad and part of the challenge is for us to fulfil the potential we have here, and I think that slowly we'll see the team developing, growing together, showing great partnerships across the pitch and having a great attitude which all together will bring you points throughout the season.

"Every player is starting to master what they are good at and that allows partnerships to form across the pitch and for the team to strengthen in different areas too.
"It's still early in the season but already we've been through a number of situations where we've had to control the game, defend and impose ourselves, so we've shown what we're capable of, but it's still a learning curve and we need now need to make sure we fulfil our potential, which is exciting."
