Heskey says Latics made Spurs look ordinary.

Wigan Athletic left it late at the JJB Stadium before securing all three points against Tottenham Hotspur, through Maynor Figueroa's 91st minute header.

But England and Wigan No. 9 Emile Heskey believes that Wigan made Spurs' team of big names look ordinary.

"The lads have been doing brilliantly, we work hard every day in training and it shows on the pitch.

"They are great players out there, but we made them look really average to be honest with you. They are a really good team.

"They might have had a bit more of the play, but the chances came to us really."

The victory over Spurs gave Wigan a four-point cushion over 8th place Hull, the gap also four points to 6th placed Everton but Hesk' isn't getting carried away with the leaguer table just yet.

"We're flying high at the minute, but we've got to keep our feet on the floor because we've got some tough games coming up," he continued.

"We're keeping our heads up and hopefully we'll keep the run going. We're a club that is trying to stay in the league.

"Europe is probably too big a jump for us, but we're going to try."
