Wigan Athletic Celebrate JJB Anniversary With DVD Release

The JJB Stadium has proved to be a happy home for Wigan Athletic, playing host to Premier League football since the Latics earned promotion in 2005, and with the anniversary of the move upon us next year, the club is releasing a DVD celebrating some of the most memorable clashes of the past decade.

The DVD, entitled 'Wigan Athletic 10 of the Best, will be released to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Latics move to the JJB Stadium, giving fans the chance to relive highlights of classic encounters spanning the previous ten years, including the seven goal thriller in which local rivals Manchester City were dismissed 4-3, the 5-3 mauling of Blackburn early in Steve Bruce's Wigan career, and eight other memorable clashes to be treasured as classics of a generation.

From the date that the Club relocated from the famous Springfield Park in May 1999, recent history has been packed with occasions to remember, making the task of picking out the top ten all the more difficult.

Fans will have a short wait to see the definitive list of titles chosen to represent the best of a decade, but with contenders including the 2003 5-0 demolition of Crystal Palace in which Liddell broke the clubs goal scoring record; the 6-1 thumping of Stoke in which six different Latics players grabbed a goal; and the inaugural league match at the JJB which saw the home side set the tone with a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe, fans are in for a goal packed DVD release.
