Taylor back in full training and targeting Ipswich
Ryan Taylor returned to training for Latics yesterday and has pencilled in the Carling Cup tie with Ipswich Town in a fortnight as a date for his return.
Taylor returns after over a month on the sidelines following a knee injury and is raring to go.
"It was a good session to come back into," he said, "it was what I needed. As each day goes by, I'll take a step up. There are no reserve games coming up so I'm hoping to return against Ipswich. Any game before that is too soon so I think it's a good game to target."
"I've pencilled that in over the last two weeks and it's a game I'd love to take part in. It'd do me the world of good confidence-wise and help me get match-fit."
The defender added how impressed he was with his team-mates' start.
"It's been a good start. I didn't see the West Ham or Hull games. It was disappointing to get beat on the first game of the season. The lads said they should have won, but Hull was a great result.
"It's tough when you're on the sidelines not being able to take part. But I'll be cheering everyone on against Sunderland and hoping we can get the three points."
