Latics' French midfielder Olivier Kapo says he is settling in very well to life at the JJB and is looking forward to the start of the season with his new club.

Kapo, who arrived from Birmingham City in the Summer says he is hoping to make his full debut at Upton Park tomorrow in the first day opening clash with West Ham United and says he has been studying footage of the Hammers this week in preparation for the big kick off.

"I always like to know how the opposition play and I am really looking forward to tomorrow, it should be a fantastic game. We are going there with only one thing in mind, to win.

Kapo has laughed off suggestions he is unhappy at his new club.

"Someone is trying to cause trouble there because nothing could be further from the truth.

HAPPY KAPO: Olvier's Loving Life in Wigan

"Sure it takes a little time to settle when you move clubs and I am still living in the hotel, but that is my choice because I want to find the right house for me and my family.

"On the football side, things are going great. The team has been playing well in pre-season and I have been happy with my contribution, although of course, as a player, you always feel you could do more.

"Steve is a top manager and when you look at the quality in the dressing room, there are some great players and some real fantastic competition for places. I don't think anyone is guaranteed a starting place and that is the way it should be to get the best out of players.

"The team spirit here seems excellent. We are a really tight group of lads and I would say it is as good if not better than I have known anywhere else.

"I've said before. Wigan reminds me of my first club Auxerre a little. A team from a small town, who stick together. I loved the atmosphere there and I don't see why I'm not going to love it here as well!"
