WILSON SIGNS NEW DEAL

Posted on: Fri 01 Aug 2008

Wigan Athletic are pleased to announce that Honduran midfield maestro Wilson Palacios has penned a new deal.

Wilson, who has continuously been linked with a move away from the JJB, signed the deal today and immediately proclaimed his love for the Latics.

"Why would I want to leave Wigan?" he said,

"I've enjoyed every minute since linking up with manager Steve Bruce again and I love the Wigan fans.

"The climax to last season was amazing and I am proud to be playing with Wigan the best league in the world."

The 24 year-old Honduran international is now looking forward to the new season with Latics and says he just can't wait to start playing competitive matches again.

"Pre-season has been fantastic and I've enjoyed the Austrian tour and pre-season games immensely.

But I can't wait for the season to begin and the 1st minute of the first game at West Ham United followed by the big home game against Chelsea."
