Peter Celebrates Competition Success
As a thank to supporters for their time the Club gave all those contacted the opportunity to be entered into the "Player For A Day" competition, where one lucky supporter would win the prize of a lifetime.
Congratulations to Peter Southern who won the competition and who experienced a day he will never forget when Wigan Athletic played Manchester United at the JJB Stadium on Saturday.
Peter, along with daughter Leah, arrived at the JJB stadium on Saturday lunchtime at which point their experience began by parking on the player's car park. From there they were shown around the ground, got changed into their new Latics gear in the home changing room, mingled with the players as they arrived and then enjoyed a superb pre-match meal.
But there was more still come, it was then out into the stadium for a kick around on the pitch as the players warmed up.
Then came the best part as Peter and Leah walked out with the two teams and took part in the official line up in front of a worldwide audience of 400 million.
Speaking to Wigan Athletic World after the game Peter said it was an unbelievable day out.
"It was a truly fantastic day and as a Wigan fans I'm also really please that we gave them (Manchester United) a game.
