KILLER PREDICTS CLOSE FINALE

Posted on: Wed 02 Apr 2008

Kevin Kilbane thinks each match until the end of the campaign will be tight.

After the 2-0 defeat at Portsmouth, the Latics winger told Wigan World subscribers "I don't think we had been playing as well as we could have done but we did have the chances to get a goal. We had a penalty and Antonio Valencia's shot hit the bar and we are disappointed that we didn't get anything."

The JJB Stadium will host the visit of Birmingham City this weekend, former club of boss Steve Bruce, who are just one point behind Latics in the Barclays Premier League.

Even if Kilbane continued, "If we had picked up just one point over the last two away games we would have been in a much healthier position. Birmingham have just got a great result at the weekend so they will be confident.

"Our gaffer will know a lot about their players individually and collectively as a team and we know they have good players because every team has in the Premier League.

"The games are going to be so tight now until the end of the season and individual players can make the difference."
