BOYCEY FOR BARBADOS

Posted on: Wed 26 Mar 2008

Emmerson Boyce answers call to play for Barbados.

Latics defender Emmerson Boyce - who has so impressed at centre-half since his recall to the team in recent weeks - has answered a call to play for Barbados.

He could make his international debut in next Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Dominica in Bridgetown, which currently stands at 1-1 from the first leg.

Boyce qualifies through his parents, who are both from Barbados and settled in England prior to Emmerson's birth

Boyce said: "The appeal is to play international football. I consider myself a Barbadian and I feel it's the right thing to do to play for my country. I am really looking forward to it."
