Bouaouzan Set for Ewood Debut

Posted on: Mon 03 Sep 2007

Latics winger Rachid Bouaouzan is set to play in tonight's reserve team match at Ewood Park, kick off 7.00pm.

Rachid Bouaouzan will line up alongside six other professionals to face a relatively strong Blackburn Rovers side in a game that has been switched from Morecambe's ground so that manager Mark Hughes can run his eye over some of his fringe players.

The Dutchman joined Latics ahead of Friday's transfer deadline along with Charlton striker Marcus Bent and is an exciting prospect given that he can play right across the midfield and has plenty of pace, and will provide the manager with a lot of tactical options.

"People tell me that I'm fast", Said Boua

"I like to play everywhere in the front line, one of the wingers, and I'm left and right footed."

Rachid travelled to Newcaslte on Friday having stepped off the plane just hours earlier and is looking forward to getting his first chance to play Premier League football.
