Heskey on Sibierski

Posted on: Mon 20 Aug 2007

Emile Heskey played a key role in the 3-0 win over Sunderland at the JJB stadium on Saturday afternoon and also got his first goal of the season.

"It's nice to get my first goal you know," said Heskey

"Sib's (Sibierski) already got off the mark, so it's nice for me to get something as well."

Heskey in his second season with the club, is also very happy with the signings that Chris Hutchings has made during the summer and believes Antoine Sibierski will prove to be a fabulous capture.

"He's very good, it's surprising that the other clubs have let him go, having him here is a big plus for us.

"He's shown good ability on the ball and he's not shy at working hard.  You don't realize how good he is in the air and he's got good feet as well so he's complete."

Sibierski scored Wigan's third goal from the spot on Saturday following on from Denny Landzaat's spot kick.  The margin of the victory took Latics to the top of the Premier League, albeit for just 23 hours.
