Latics face Blackburn Rovers at Robin Park tonight

LATICS v BLACKBURN ROVERS
Robin Park Arena
Tonight 7.00pm

Keith Bettschin's Latics look to wrap up their Barclays Premier League Reserve programme with a third consecutive win when they face Blackburn's second string tonight, kick off 7.00pm at Robin Park.

Mid-table Latics are currently 6th in the League, which represents a good return for a team that has consisted mostly of young pros and youth team players. Bertschin returns to this squad for the match, after last week's outing against Bolton that featured so many first teamers.

Bertschin says: "Taking the season as a whole there have been more highs than lows, and in the main, the lads have given their all. It proves what a difference having a settled squad can make.

"They have often come across much older teams and have probably punched above their weight all season.

"Hopefully, they can finish on another high tonight and show that the experience of this season might stand one or two of them in good stead for their careers at the club."

16 year old-keeper Lee Nicholls starts in goal again, with on form Callum McMannaman, who has scored in the past two games, once again leading the line.

LATICS:
Nicholls, Crane, Pearson, Meace, Redmond, Kupisz, Routledge, Hampson, Holt, McManaman
Subs: Williams, Field, Lambert. Amos, Jukes
