TAYLS UP - RESERVES: LATICS 0 BLACKBURN 2

Posted on: Wed 19 Mar 2008

Latics 0 -2 Blackburn Rovers - Steve Bruce watches Ryan Taylor shine at Robin Park

Latics management team of Steve Bruce and Eric Black were at Robin Park to see the Reserves go down 2-0 in a hard-fought game against a powerful Rovers side.

The main positive for Latics was another impressive 90 minutes for Ryan Taylor, operating at right-back. He contributed as normal with a set of dangerous set pieces, but his all-round game appears to be back to full strength.

Meanwhile, Erik Hagen, Maynor Figueroa, Titus Bramble, Josip Skoko and Salomon Olembe all had full games and will continue to also give the manager food for thought.

Rovers scored from two first half set-pieces through Alex Marrow and Marcus Marshall, but hardly threatened thereafter.

LATICS
Horn, Taylor, Hagen, Bramble, Figueroa, Bouaouzan (Routledge, 86), Montrose (Kupisz, 76), Olembe, Skoko, Cywka, Mahon (McCaughtrie, 90)
Substitutes not used: Postlethwaite, Moore
