Mark Seagraves' men went down in a fighting display at the JJB Stadium in front of 1,000 fans. They carved up plenty of chances and were probably unlucky not to get anything from the match. 

There were many positives to take from the performance, none more so than from First Year goalkeeper Neil Postlethwaite, who was forced into premature action when Russell Saunders was forced off after just four minutes. He looked assured throughout, made several excellent saves, and was unlucky on the goal, having initially parried from Febian Brandy before he pounced on the loose ball.

Salomon Olembe looked solid at left back and came bursting forwards at every opportunity, Rachid Bouaouzan played the full 90 minutes after recovering from injury and showed some exquisite touches while Republic of Ireland Under 19 international Craig Mahon was also a threat.

Other good performances came from Julius Aghahowa, Polish starlet Tomasz Kupisz and young professional Peter Moore.
