SUNDERLAND 1
LATICS 0

Ten man Latics fought bravely but were undone by a last gasp goal in the North-East, bundled in by Nathan Luscombe.

Ryan Taylor received a second yellow card after 66 minutes, which disrupted the flow of the game for Mark Seagraves' men, who had played well with Fitz Hall controlling matters well at the back and Peter Moore and Luke Ashworth also impressive.

There were plenty of positives on the night, none more so than a return for young Polish midfielder Tomasz Kupisz after a lengthy injury and another solid performance for many of the youthful Latics side. Julius Aghahowa had the best chance of the night for Latics.

Nash; Moore, Hall, Ashworth, King (Mahon 46); Taylor, Montrose, Cywka, Kupisz, Olembe; Aghahowa
Unused Subs: Postlethwaite, Meace, Mahon, Routledge, McCaughtrie,
