The Wrightington Hotel & Country Club, owned by Chairman Dave Whelan, is celebrating being awarded four-star status today.

From 2006, Stars replaced Diamonds as the AA's rating system for guest accommodation. Star ratings, from one to five, are used to assess guest accommodation.

On the 10th September 2009, the hotel was assessed by an Inspector and they where awarded 4 Star status.  Helen Hart, who heads up the team at the Wrightington Hotel,  has seen a transformation over the last 10 years as Dave Whelan has heavily invested in refurbishments and she has implemented a standard fit for 4 Stars.

The team at the hotel have grown from strength to strength. They are really pleased with their new star status, Helen has always felt they were deserved of this and now they have proved it.
