Paul Scharner gets his hands dirty for mother's day.

Mum of 4 Karen Wiseman from Ashton in Makerfield was given a treat ahead of Mother's day this Sunday, when Wigan's versatile utility player Paul Scharner, turned up on her doorstep to help with the housework.

The big Austrian, who will make his 100th Premier League appearance for Latics on Sunday if selected, got his hands dirty by helping with the washing, dishes, vacuuming, dusting and even finished off by making a cup of tea and presenting the busy mum with a box of chocolates.

The treat came courtesy of Karen's son Dan, who entered the Latics.tv website competition to win a special day out at the Latics v Hull game for his mum by telling us why his mum should win.  This was his answer:-

"She cooks, She cleans
She's very good with beans!
She can be tough
But she fills our house with love"

Now that Paul Scharner has ensured that everything's done and there's no more housework to do, Karen's mother's day prize can be completed on Sunday when she brings the family along to the game to enjoy the best hospitality that the JJB Stadium has to offer.

Happy Mother's Day from Wigan Athletic!
