Latics Announce Club Shop at the JJB Stadium

Wigan Athletic today announce that it will open a purpose-built retail outlet at the JJB Stadium before the end of the current Barclays Premier League season.

It will be located in the main West Stand, in between the main reception and the Players Lounge replacing the Ticket Collections point and the conference rooms directly behind it. Plans are at an advanced stage and a new Retail Manager is being sought to manage the outlet.

The Club's relationship with partner JJB is as strong as ever with Latics products continuing to be made available at selected JJB outlets throughout the country.

Today's announcement is part of the ongoing commercial development strategy which commenced with the Club rebranding in May 2008 and production of a new look crest. Matchday Retail was trialled last season and the findings from that project will be carried forward. More developments will become apparent as the Club looks to establish itself further as a Premier League property.

The new Club Shop will stock an all-new range of Latics merchandise alongside first team kit, training range and accessories and will be open both matchday and non-matchday.

In tandem, the Club is looking to revitalise its Mail Order and internet sales and expects to make more announcements in the coming weeks to keep supporters up to date about this exciting new venture.

Latics Commercial Director Paul Hunt comments, "The supporters deserve a Club Shop they can be proud of. Having a retail outlet at the stadium gives us the opportunity to coordinate our marketing allowing us to integrate better with ticketing for example, in turn, making us more customer-focused."
