JJB STADIUM PASSES SCREEN TEST
As a part of the JJB Stadium's ongoing drive to improve the matchday experience for all supporters, the Latics' game versus Manchester City this weekend sees the introduction of forty brand new plasma screens, which have been installed throughout the concourses at the JJB Stadium.
In an agreement with Sports TV, SportsRevolution and TV & Video Direct the screens have been installed to deliver programming to all corners of the concourses with Latics TV for Premier League games and Warriors TV for Super League outings.
The screens will show live football or rugby and previous matches in the run up to kick off, with the day's game also being broadcast LIVE - so supporters need not miss a minute of the action whilst on the concourse!
Latics Commercial Director Paul Hunt comments, "This is one part of a series of initiatives intended to make matchdays more enjoyable for fans. The very latest in technology has been used and I must thank our partners for their support."
Sports TV, who installed the screens, will provide up-to-the-minute content and can count 50 Clubs and in excess of 3,000 screens within their growing portfolio. The on-screen content will focus on the match that day, with head-to-head and player statistics displayed alongside team line-ups and all the latest news. Live scores from all other games taking place simultaneously will be constantly updated - all without a commercial break in sight!
In addition to the benefits for supporters, the Clubs will also generate revenue from the screens via advertising sales. Advertising space will be sold on a national, regional and local level, with companies being able to sponsor elements of the programming or take advantage of banner advertising opportunities.
Vange Kourentis from Sports Revolution said of the initiative, "The introduction of concourse TV brings the JJB Stadium into a national advertising network of more than 50 stadia in the UK, an attractive proposition for advertisers and a source of new revenue and value for the clubs and their partners. SportsRevolution are exited by the opportunity to continue to develop new commercial opportunities at the stadium."
The screens will also keep supporters up to date with fixture changes, forthcoming events or in-stadium promotions and can also assist in delivering safety messages should this be required.
Matthew Brown from TV and Video Direct with Manager Steve Bruce and Commercial Director Paul Hunt
Mat Brown, Director from TV and Video Direct who supplied the screens said, "We have worked with the Clubs for a couple of years now and we are happy to support the project."
Latics Season Ticket Holders Alan Gambles and Andrew Jolly had a sneak preview of the screens this week and were impressed with what they saw - a sentiment that it is hoped will be shared by all supporters.
