TRIAL INFORMATION

Trials at Wigan Athletic Centre of Excellence

Wigan Athletic Football Club Centre of Excellence does not hold open trials. We have a scouting network with representatives watching games and tournaments in and around the North West.

Should you wish to be considered for a trial and are aged between 9 and 18 years of age, send your CV and covering letter to the Club including the following details:-

Name.
Date of birth.
Contact address and telephone number.
Current club you play for.
School you attend.
Position you play.
List of forthcoming fixtures you will be playing in.

On receipt of your letter, our recruitment staff may make a decision to watch your games. If we feel that you have shown potential to play at Centre of Excellence level, an approach will be made to the manager of your club and your parents and you will be invited in for a trial.

During your trial you will be monitored by your age group coach, the Centre of Excellence Manager, and recruitment staff.

A decision will be made within three to six weeks whether to sign you on a Centre of Excellence contract or release you from your trial and monitor you at your club.

Please note that in accordance with FA Premier League rules:-

Trials can only be offered to players in the under 9 to under 12 age group if the player lives within one hour's traveling time of Wigan.

Trials can only be offered to players in the under 13 to under 16 age group if the player lives within one and a half hour's traveling time of Wigan.
