WIGAN ATHLETIC v SOUTHAMPTON
FA YOUTH CUP 4th ROUND
DW STADIUM
WEDNESDAY 11th JANUARY
KICK OFF 7.00pm

Latics' reward for their brilliant 118th minute winning goal at St James Park against Exeter City in FA Youth Cup 3rd Round is to host Category A Academy side Southampton at the DW Stadium in the 4th Round.

The match will be played on Wednesday 11th January with a kick off time of 7.00pm. Ticket details will be announced in due course.

Wigan-born substitute James Berry made an unforgettable start to his career as a Latics player having only signed the day before, scoring the 25 yard winning goal at Exeter with virtually the last kick of the game.

Latics are looking to emulate last season’s feat of reaching the 5th Round for the first time in the competition, where they beat Derby County in the 4th Round, eventually falling to Manchester City after extra time.

Gregor Rioch, Head of the Wigan Athletic Academy, said: “The lads have worked so hard to get this far and the memory of last season will spur them on. They have earned their chance to play at the DW Stadium against one of the top academies in the country and I hope the Wigan fans will come out and cheer on the players we all hope will form part of the club’s future.”
