We look ahead to Tuesday night's clash at the DW Stadium as Turkish Super League side Besiktas provide the next pre-season test for Uwe Rosler's side.

Latics fans could get to see their new signings in action as Turkish Super League outfit Besiktas visit the DW Stadium on Tuesday evening.

WIGAN ATHLETIC vs BESIKTAS
TUESDAY 15 JULY 2014, KICK OFF 7.00PM
DW STADIUM

After a 3-1 win over TSV Havelse in Germany and a 0-0 draw in a behind-closed-doors clash with Walsall, Uwe Rosler’s side are set to give fans their first taste of action before the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship campaign starts in just under a month’s time.

James Tavernier, Andrew Taylor, Oriol Riera and Andrew Taylor-Sinclair all featured in last week’s draw with the Saddlers at Christopher Park whilst Don Cowie may have to wait until Saturday’s trip to Rochdale to make his first appearance for Latics.

The fixture will be the first of Besiktas’ pre-season tour of England as Slaven Bilic’s side begin their preparations for a campaign that will also see them take on the UEFA Champions League.

The Turkish outfit finished third in the Turkish Super League last season and qualified for Europe’s elite competition following Fenerbahce’s two-year European ban.

Last season’s top scorer, Portuguese international Hugo Almeida, has left the club following the expiration of his contract, though he’s already been replaced by Cenk Tosun who scored 13 league goals for Gaziantepspor last season.

Kick off will be at 7.00pm, with cash turnstiles operating on the Springfield (West) Stand for Latics supporters and the North Stand open for visiting fans.

All seats will be unreserved, there will be no facility to buy tickets in advance.

Admission is priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

The DW Sports Fitness Lounge South Stand Bar will also be open for this fixture from 5.30pm, so get down early for food and drink!

If you can’t make it to the game, live match commentary will be on offer on Latics Player whilst you can also follow the game on Latics Wall and the club’s official social media channels.
