COMMUNITY IMPACT REPORT

The Football Club is very proud to this week publish the annual report of its charity Wigan Athletic Community Trust.

The 2014 Impact Report details the different work carried out by the Community Trust team between January and December last year which saw it impact on the lives of over 10,000 people in the Wigan Community.

During the year the Trust ran 16 projects in 86 different venues from primary schools to local parks and saw its income rise to just under £700,000, which all goes into providing sporting, educational and health opportunities for young people and families in the town.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Phillip Williams said: “On behalf of myself and the Board of Trustees at Wigan Athletic Community Trust we are delighted to publish our 2014 report.

“From running education programmes in primary and secondary schools to running football and sports camps at venues such as the Wigan Youth Zone we are delighted that Trust is able to play such a prominent role in the lives of so many people in Wigan.”

Chief Executive of Wigan Athletic Jonathan Jackson said: “In the year that Wigan and Wigan Athletic became internationally known as a winning town and the town were asked to ‘Believe in Wigan’ I am proud that Wigan Athletic Community Trust continued to enrich the lives of local people and provide so many special moments for the town.”
